Tips & tricks

Great Tans Don't Happen By Chance, They Happen By Appointment - And Great Aftercare!

  •  See a smudge prior to your initial rinse with a classic (8-12hr) solution? Prior to jumping in the shower, take some lotion, go over the smudge in a circular motion and it will blend in the shower.
  • Avoid Dove, Olay & Bath & Body Works products before AND after your spray tan.
  • Avoid razors with the moisture strips at the top. When shaving, do not use shaving creams as they typically have alcohols in them (use coconut oil or jojoba oil), do not dry shave, lighten up on the pressure and keep shaving to a minimum. Shaving is a form of exfoliation.
  • The darker you go, the more noticeable the fade will be. Darker tans require more care to ensure the tan fades nicely and evenly.
  • Face & hands will always be the first to fade, you can lightly buff out any edges of the fade to help blend.
  • Spray tans do NOT protect your skin from the sun - wear spf!
  • To remove old tan; soak in the tub for 20 minutes (add coconut or baby oil for added bonus - again, will make tub slippery, so be careful!) and then exfoliate your skin with an exfoliating mitt or a sugar scrub.

Breastfeeding? Take an old t-shirt and cut a hole to line up with your nipple. This will allow you to breastfeed without having to worry about little hands coming into contact with your skin.

Workout a lot? You might notice if you wear tight sports bras, where it sits will fade quicker due to sweat and friction. Ways to help this; moisturize body well prior to putting on your sports bra and then POWDER yourself where any tight clothing will be resting on your body. This will help keep moisture at bay and help limit the amount of friction.

Going away on vacation? Amazing! Chlorinated water will, unfortunately, cause the tan to fade a bit quicker. BUT! There are things you can do that will help the longevity of your tan while you're soaking up the sun.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Lather your body in lotion prior to going in the pools and/or hot tubs. That will act like a barrier and protect your skin from the chemicals. Moisturize AFTER! Chlorinated water, especially hot tubs, will dry out the skin. Wear spf - all day, every day!

Last but not least - ENJOY YOUR TAN! It truly is confidence painted onto the body. Remember; you are ALWAYS beautiful but now you're bronzed and beautiful!
